How have you been? Here in Susaki, it seems we have already passed the rainy season because we had the sunshine in passed weekend.
And, here comes 4-day-holiday this week.
There should be more people going out for fishing.
We hope your ordinary days come back soon.
Anyway, back to title.
On July 18th, there were some boats going for fishing.
What did they catch?
Lots of Horse Mackerel! However, the size is little bit smaller than before. About a month ago, the max size of horse mackerel could be more than 50cm, 20in.
But now, the biggest reached bearly 40cm, 16in.
Let's see others' cold boxes!
Chicken grunt, Amberjack, Crimson Seabream and maybe smallscale blackfish on most back. Great catch!
This cold box is even more gorgeous! Chicken grunt, Mackerel, and Six banded Grouper!
Chicken grunt is now in best season !
Chicken grunt is quite famous as a taste of summer in Japan. After Coronavirus ceased all over the world and if you have a chance to visit to Susaki in summer, we recommend to try this fish.
Chicken grunt is called "Isaki" in Japanese. If you ask "Isaki arimasuka? (Do you have Chicken Grunt?)" at restaurant, and if there is, try it.
If you are not satisfied to eat Isaki served by others and want to catch by yourself, this is the captain you need to address!

As we have been informing since last year, Captain Okkamu is constantly catching fishes. If you come to Japan first time ever and would like to try fishing without being lonely with empty cold box, we highly recommend him to go fishing with.

Captain Okkamu above is mainly fishing with raw or live bait but we, Susaki Tourism Fishing Center, provide lure fishing service as well.
Fishing style is called "Tairaba" which is effective for Red Snappers and other kinds of snappers.
