Rod and Reel Dragged into the Ocean

Hello, world anglers!

How have you been ?

Here in Susaki, rainy season finished and we are in middle of hot summer season.

And now, typhoon is coming from tomorrow.

This time, time is little bit back but Captain Okkamu sent us really great fishing information as title said above.

So, we would like to share what happened to him and his customer in July 1st.

This time, he and his customer started fishing at 650m deep area. Yes, you read right. 650m, 2132ft deep!!

30 minutes after they started fishing, they caught some bonito.

カツオ

However, fish bites have gone little while, so they went to 1200m area to do drifting fishing. Yes, you read right. 1200m, 3937ft deep!!!

Then, two rods strike at the same time. Lines from both rod was released for 150m,492ft immediately.

Captain and  customer fought with each rod, but around 50m deep, two fish tangled and one snapped.

Another one was retrieved around 20m from surface then, line snapped again. Both are huge fish. That was only thought they could think of with their exhursted bodies.

However, nature is always unexpected. In 10minutes after the hard fight, something extraordinary hit the rod.

Line was dragged for 300m, 984ft instantly !   As  soon as captain saw the speed of the line released, he realized that this is the biggest fish he has ever hit.

It was angler's  turn to fight back after line was dragged for 300m, 984ft.

Captain and customer cooperate together and lifeted the giant from the deep.

After 40 minutes, Giant  was visible and that was something he has never seen before.

Tuna was unexpectedly big and didn't move even a bit. It looked already dead.

Captain and angler decided to sting the hook to the tuna at the same time to finish off, and they did.

When they did, tuna looked revitalized and dashed to the deep all the sudden with massive power.

Captain and customer tried to hold the rope as possible as they could but its power is just way out of human power.

Hook, rope, and expensive fishing rod and reel were dragged into the ocean in a moment and disappeared with massive tuna.

Captain and customer lost energy and will, and their fishing gears for one fish.

After a short while, they regained will again and resumed fishing.

In little while, they  got  a "small tuna, according to Captain.

キハダマグロ

To me, this is still big enough.

After this tuna, fishes seemed to be gone from the area and they finished fishing at 12:30.

The result is following.

7 bonito

1 Yellowfin Tuna

Lots of Dolphin fish

シイラ

This one dolphin fish is enough for me for this kind of fishing.

Sea of Susaki is full of wonder and unexpected.

This is from our captain Okkamu.
