Big Horse Mackerel Festival

Hello, everyone!

Greeting from Susaki, Japan.

How was your fishing recently?

Me? I finally did it! I have been trying to catch big snappers and have been failing to catch by 3 days ago, but finally, finally, I did it. I could catch two red snappers !! I have hit 4 times and 2 lost. Ones lost were pretty big and I couldn't stop their rush til they cut my line by swimming into structures. Anyway, I got some progress and am pretty fulfilled now.

Alright then, let's take a look what captain Okkamu got yesterday.

アジ マトウダイ

Big horse mackerel!

アジ サバ

Horse mackerel and Mackerel

大アジ

Giant Horse Mackerel possibly close to 50cm

In previous day, he had found a great spot already.

So, he just went there straight ahead and as soon as they arrived, customers constantly started catching good sized horse mackerel.

That made Captain Okkamu feel good and prompted him to try some other new spots.

Some other new spots weren't as good as first spot. Good sized horse mackerel were gone at those spots and lots of small mackerel coming and coming, and customers started grumbling like "We wish we could keep fishing at first spot...."

After he heard that grumble, he went back to first spot right away and they all started catching big horse mackerel again.

Here in Japan, we will be getting into 10 consecutive days off (so-called "Golden Week")

If you would like to try fishing in Japan, it is good time to come!

As we have been informing since last year, Captain Okkamu is constantly catching fishes. If you come to Japan first time ever and would like to try fishing without being lonely with empty cold box, we highly recommend him to go fishing with.

For the details for fishing tour is here (see "Boat Fishing・Raw Bait Style").

Location of port is here.

Captain Okkamu above is mainly fishing with raw or live bait but we, Susaki Tourism Fishing Center, provide lure fishing service as well.

Fishing style is called "Tairaba" which is effective for Red Snappers and other kinds of snappers.  We highly recommend Tairaba style fishing service.

Detail is here.

As well as lure fishing service, we also provide the service that carries anglers to offshore inlets for Smallscale Blackfish and Striped Beakfish.

It is highly recommend to aim those fishes in winter . Detail is here.

We will see you at next information update and hopefully at Susaki for fishing in future!

Fish on!!
