Hello, world anglers !
It is time to send you fishing report from Susaki, Japan!
Hope somebody is waiting for this update. Otherwise, I am asking myself why and what I am doing this for.....
Anyway, let's get started!
This time, ast title said, there were many anglers who had a blast.
Report is from March 7th.
Let's take a look!
First picture. Smallscale blackfish and Black Seabream! Lots of blackfish mean that this angler got a right spot for them. Blackfish in this season has thick body fat and best for hot pot. For black seabream, seared meat is the best for me. Filleting and making sashimi first, grill the skin part lightly. Skin part became flavoured and chewy bit. That goes with tender and sweet meat.
This is how they look like on the floor.
Black seabream is about 50cm. Blackfish is all about 40cm, which are all good size.
Let take a look at next cold box of who went to little bit of offshore.
Lots of fat Yellowtail!! They are all about 70cm (27.5in) . In this season, Yellowtail contains lots of fat and very tasty as sashimi, grilling, syabusyabu or any other kinds of cooking methods. If you ever have a chance to visit Japan(though we are still in pandemic now) in Feburary~March, this is a must to try!
Here is another cold box who did similar fishing method.
This angler caught yellowtail and amberjack. Amberjack is an expensive fish in Japan.
It becomes quite tasty to age amberjack meat for 3~5 days in fridge.
Another cold box has also tasty fish in it.
Spanish Mackerel ! Though they have sharp teeth and cut fishing line a lot, it is worth to be persistent to catch them because of their taste. Seared Spanish Mackerel is really fantastic taste.
This should also be in your "Must Try" list.
Lastly, let's take a look at the cold box whose anglers went to offshore with Sabiki Jig.
Lots of horse mackerel might make you assume one captain. Yes, that is Captain Okkamu.
From this result, they went out probably 70m (233ft) or deeper because Yellowback Seabream tends to live in deep area. They also caught Six banded Grouper too. That is very jealous.
In the sea of Susaki, there are various targets for both Lure fishing and Bait fishing.
And, the experienced captains for both lure and bait fishing take anglers to great fishing spots everyday.
There are two representitive captains below.

For the details for fishing tour is here (see "Boat Fishing・Raw Bait Style").
Location of port is here.
Captain Okkamu above is mainly fishing with raw or live bait but we, Susaki Tourism Fishing Center, provide lure fishing service as well.
Fishing style is called "Tairaba" which is effective for Red Snappers and other kinds of snappers. Here in Susaki, winter is the best season for big snappers. We highly recommend Tairaba style fishing service.
Detail is here.
As well as lure fishing service, we also provide the service that carries anglers to offshore inlets for Smallscale Blackfish and Striped Beakfish. Both fishes become fatter and fatter in winter and more tastier.
It is highly recommend to aim those fishes in winter . Detail is here.
We will see you at next information update and hopefully at Susaki for fishing in future!
Fish on!!
