Today, we would like to share the information for family fishing here in Susaki.
We have been introducing boat fishing for a while but, we share our good place with new angle of fishing.
In Susaki, there is a bay surrounded by the Peninsula called Yokonami.
Bay 's name is Uranouchi where there is probably the densest Akame living in Japan.
This bay is very calm with lots of accessible fishing spots such as surf, pier, stony coast, and so on.
For family, safety alwasy comes first. Most of area in Uranouchi Bay is quite safe for elelmentary school kids or above.
Second thing to coming to parents mind would be "Is there fish easily to catch?"
There is no problem.
This bay gets depth steeply, so if you cast only for 20m (67ft), you can reach many fishes.
What kind of fishes?
7 Silver biddy, 3 Japanese Sillago, and 1 Richardson's Dragonet. Sillago on right is 23cm, 9in!
These are quite easy to catch with simple rig. Light sinker around 15~30g with two hooks.
Bait is polychea. Method is also simple. Cast for around 20m, get a bottom, take a line slag and get a line tension.
Then, drag a rig slowly for 30cm (1ft), stop, wait for a bite, drag a rig slowly for 30cm again, wait for a bite.
If you keep doing this, you will get a bite soon.
It's super easy to catch these fishes within 30 minutes.

There are so many safe spots for family fishing.
These fishes on a picture is also edible with simple cooking such as fry and grill.

Fishing style is called "Tairaba" which is effective for Red Snappers and other kinds of snappers.
